Tustana Animal Hospital is dedicated to consistently provide the highest quality of compassionate veterinary care and offer an exceptional experience to our clients and their pets. Our defining quality is the passion we bring to enhance the lives of our patients and their owners whilst fostering the human-animal bond. We believe in partnering with our clients, through preventative care, education and the highest quality in veterinary medicine to allow our patients to live longer, happier lives. ​We also serve Santa Ana, Orange, Villa Park, Irvine and Anaheim ( North Orange County).

  • Dr. John Coleing

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Coleing was born and raised in the rolling countryside of England, he has always been passionate about animals and knew from a young age he wanted to be a veterinarian. After graduating from the prestigious Royal Veterinary College in 2007, Dr. Coleing practiced small animal medicine in England before deciding to move to the sunnier climes of the US in 2009.

    Dr. Coleing has an unwavering compassion and devotion to helping pets live happier, longer lives and a commitment to partnering with our clients to help make the best decisions for the health of their furry family members.

    Dr. Coleing has loved to combine his love of traveling with wildlife conservation. He has spent time researching monkeys in Sri Lanka and saving wild animals in South Africa. From lassoing giraffes to wrestling pythons and bottle feeding orphaned hyenas.

    Dr. Coleing brings that same passion in everything he does and cannot wait to meet each and every one of you and your four-legged friends.

  • Dr. Lisa MacDonald

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Lisa MacDonald, a southern California native, received her undergraduate degree in Physiology, at the University of California Davis. She continued on at UCD and completed her DVM degree in 1991. Dr. MacDonald has enjoyed all aspects of veterinary medicine for over 30 years. She has two children and lives in Orange County with her husband and a multitude of pets (horse, dog, cats, lizards, turtles, and fish). When not in the office, Dr. MacDonald loves traveling with her family and enjoys running, hiking, mountain biking, and scuba diving outdoors.

  • Dr. Bryce Affeld

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Bryce Affeld was born and raised in Anaheim, California. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of California – Santa Barbara in 2016 then embarked on his veterinary school journey in 2018 at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Affeld graduated in May 2022 and obtained doctorate accreditation in July 2022. He has beautiful 2 cats named Romulus and Remus who are wonderful companions and chose him as their owner while in vet school (feel free to ask him about how he got them).

    In his free time, Dr. Affeld enjoys being outside, and particularly surfing, snowboarding, and rollerblading/skating. He also really enjoys going to concerts and rock-n-roll shows (especially 60s, 70s, and 80s music). He has a fond love for emergency medicine and Chinese integrative medicine, including acupuncture. A goal of Dr. Affeld’s is to combine western and eastern medical philosophies. Dr. Affeld also has a passion for emergency and critical care. “I’d love to meet you and help your animals the best that I can!”

    Lead Veterinary Assistant

    My name is Courtney I have been in the veterinary field since 2014.  I’m the lead tech at Tustana Animal Hospital and in my spare time, I enjoy horseback riding with my horse, Huey.  I have 2 dogs and a cat.  My first dog growing up was a Boston Terrier and that’s where my love for dogs started.

    Veterinary Assistant

    Hi, my name is Jordan and I’ve been in the veterinary field since 2013. I have a pug named Kingston and a black cat named Binx. I’ve always wanted to work with animals since I was a kid. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking and binge-watching Netflix shows. I hope to work with exotic animals at the zoo in the future.

    Veterinary Assistant

    Nina joined Tustana animal hospital in 2019 as a kennel attendant and has moved her way up to a veterinary technician assistant. Nina’s love for animals started as a child. She has three dogs, Bella the pug and two mixed pitties Bonnie and Riley, as well as a  hedgehog named Gizmo.

    Veterinary Assistant

    Kim has been with Tustana animal hospital for 3 years.  She started as a kennel attendant, went up to reception, and is now a technician assistant. She is the mother of a one-year-old little boy named Ezekiel and a dog mom to 4 huskies (Bandit, Nymeria, Bella and Vulcann) and one little terrier named snowball.

    Kennel Supervisor

    Candy has been a part of the Tustana family for 15 years. As our kennel supervisor she is dedicated to caring for your pets and giving them the best experience during their stay with us. Candy is hard working and devoted and we could not do it without her!

    Receptionist

    April has always had a passion for animals since she was a little girl, and knew the only job for her would always include animals, she has been in the veterinary field for almost 30 years and wouldn’t trade it for the world. She is an animal mommy of a Boxer mix named Sunny and a German Shepard named Sugar, she also has 2 beautiful Orange Tabby cats, Poodle and Jackson, 1 snake and a few fish, needless to say her spare time is spent with all her babies and she enjoys every moment with them.

    Receptionist

    My name is Kathi and I left a career in accounting to work at Tustana Animal Hospital in 1989. I love all animals but share my home with many now tamed feral cats. Originally from rural Ohio, I enjoy caring for my cats, reading, gardening, and feeding the wild birds.

  • Wendie

    Receptionist

    Wendie has been working in the animal medical field for over 20 years. She has worked in all areas of an animal hospital, but she’s currently taking care of the patients in reception. She is a native of Orange County and animal lover of all kinds. She currently has 2 dogs, Shellie a Chihuahua mix and Siouxsie (as in the Banshees) a Malinois mix. Other interesting pets at her house are chickens, frogs, and fish.

    Receptionist

    Hi my name is Raelene. I have been working with animals for 7 years. I have two fur babies. Rex a 6-year-old chihuahua mix  and Monti  a 3-year-old Jindo Shepherd

  • Peggy

    Groomer

    Peggy has been our groomer at Tustana for over 25 years. She offers your pets a true “spa” day with special treatments and personal attention.
    Her background includes showing dogs with a specialty in poodles. Peggy is available on Tuesday and Thursday.
