Dr. Brian Hayter grew up in Tustin, California and earned a Master's degree in Fine Arts prior to becoming a veterinarian. He taught English at community college and published poetry in several national publications before his love of animals led him to pursue his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University where his interests included internal medicine, dermatology, and exotic species. He was named a Merial Summer Scholar where he studied the effects of BPA chemical exposure on perinatal mice. He was also given the opportunity to intern at the prestigious San Diego Zoo where he worked with all manner of species, including a panda bear, cheetah, cougar, and polar bear. He and his wife, Catherine, are the proud parents of two rambunctious pair of boys, a baby girl, and a cockapoo named Skywalker. Dr. Hayter sets out to answer all client questions and provide the highest level of care for pets.

About Our Clinic

Dr.Pete Kvarnstrom (Dr K.)  I was born in Vancouver, Washington but spent most of my following years in rural communities throughout the central coastal regions of California. On the farm is where I learned about hard work and grew to love and appreciate animals. I completed both my Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Science and my Veterinary Medical Degree at UC Davis, where I graduated in 1998. In 2005 I purchased Tustana Animal Hospital and began to mold my own practice using the knowledge that I had gathered through the years.
